FOREHEAD SURGERY

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT FOREHEAD SURGERY:

Classic Forehead Surgery:

Before the procedure, your hair will be hold back in different segments using rubber bands to clear the incision line. A coronal suture will be performed. This suture starts on the upper area of your ear, follows your forehead line and ends on the same area on the other side of your head. This incision is done behind hair’s growing line, so the scar will be completely covered and unnoticed. Using this incision, the surgeon will lift your skin and will access and manipulate the muscles and tissues. Eyebrows can be lifted and extra skin can be removed, giving you a younger look.

Endoscopic Forehead Surgery:

Unlike the classic procedure, Endoscopic surgery uses 4 or 5 small incisions. The endoscope is a thin tube-shaped equipment connected to a monitor. It is introduced through the incisions allowing a clear sight of the muscles and tissues the surgeon will work with.

After the surgery:

Each technique has a different recovery procedure.

After a classic forehead surgery you may feel a little uncomfortable around the incision. But this is easily controlled using common painkillers. You will need to sleep with your head as high as possible to help reduce the inflammation. Inflammation can affect eyes and cheeks but will only last a few days. During the healing procedure you may feel a little itch around your nose that may last a few months. Some hair surrounding the scar may fall or change temporarily. Normal hair growth may take some weeks or a few months. Total hair loss is rare

Endoscopic forehead surgery may cause discomfort and a small inflammation around the incision.

Even though you will feel perfect after 1 or 2 days, you should take at least a week to rest. You may shower and wash your hair after 2 days as soon as the bandage is removed. Some activities (house work, sex, aerobics) that affect blood pressure will have to wait 3 or 4 weeks. You will see the results after 3 or 4 weeks. Most of the patients feel very pleased with their results no matter the technique they have chosen.
Aging effect can be reduced for a few years with a forehead surgery. Probably after some time you will like to repeat the procedure.
