WHY DO WE LOSE HAIR?
Statistically 35 million men and 20 million women have very thin hair or just simply hair loss. This problem is more common than what we think.
Partial or complete baldness is known as Hair Loss. It can be genetic or acquired. Hair loss causes suffering to both men and women and the process can be even harder if they are young. Hair loss affects both genders, all ethnic groups and all ages.
There are three patterns of hair loss:
- Areata: hair is lost in patches.
- Totalis: hair is completely lost.
- Universalis: hair is lost all over the body.
Many factors cause Hair loss, but the most common factor is androgynous. Androgenic hair loss affects almost 50% men after age 50.
Hair loss usually starts after the second or third decade and it is determined by a combination of hereditary factors and masculine hormones (testosterone and DHT) DHT has receptors on forehead and crown hair. DHT causes first the decrease of hair diameter and then complete hair loss.
Ideal candidates for micro hair implant surgery are those men and women that have
- An androgenic hair loss pattern,
- Scars that cause hair loss,
- Thin hair or hair loss,
- Total or partial lack of eyebrows or eyelashes.
There are many commercial products that promise hair growth, but none of them are scientific effective. Today there are medical treatments for slight hair loss that, after 6 months of constant usage, revert the process. More severe hair loss does not respond to medical treatments and needs to be treated with micro implants.
The existence of different kinds of hair loss causes the need for different treatments. Temporary loss can be treated clinically; permanent loss needs to be treated with hair implants. There are many different techniques to do so.
Nowadays one of the most efficient techniques, because of the simplicity of its application, is Micro implant. Micro implant has increased the aesthetic results of hair implant surgery. The use of very small implants placed on the forehead makes the hair growth line natural and the procedure hard to notice. The way the implants are placed depends on the type of hair, and the characteristics of the donor area.
Micro implants:
Best results are obtained from Soft Folicular Micro Implant. This is an aesthetic surgical technique that solves the aesthetic problem caused by hair loss.
Soft Folicular Micro Implant is the best procedure for those who want immediate results. Healthy folicles are placed where hair no longer grows. Each session can apply 2500 or 3000 hairs. Using small incisions, folicular units are placed on the receiving area.
This procedure avoids rejection because the implants are obtained from the patient. Implantation is done in the OR, lasts 2 or 3 hours gaining excellent results.
After a few months hair will start growing in a healthy, natural and permanent way. Our micro implants have excellent results thanks to our 35 years of experience performing this technique.
