Lipectomy is a surgical procedure that removes fat and skin excess in the central and lower abdomen. At the same time, the muscles are readjusted to the abdominal wall.

PROCEDURE
The intervention lasts between 1 and 2 hours, depending on each patient.

In general an incision is performed form one heap bone to he other one above the pubis following the bikini line. A second incision is done under the navel to release it from the abdominal wall. In mini tummy tucks, the incisions are much smaller and there is no need to remove the navel.

The next step is to separate the skin from the abdominal wall up to the last rib being able to see the abdominal muscles.

These muscles are joined with sutures to tight the abdominal wall.

AFTER SURGERY

Scars will not look nice the first 3 to 6 months, but this is completely normal. It will take 9 months to an year until the scar reaches their final appearance.
